Visible Touch 0.17 mm – yellow braided carp line

The Visible Touch 0.17 mm is our high-visibility braided main line for carp anglers who want to see exactly where their lines are running at all times, even at long distances.

The striking yellow color is a major advantage, especially during night fishing, boat fishing, and when dropping rigs at long distances.

Why Visible Touch?

The yellow Visible Touch is intentionally highly visible. This makes it very easy to monitor the path of your main line, especially at night or when dropping rigs using a dinghy.

This is particularly helpful when multiple rods are positioned at different distances or angles, or when you need to account for boat traffic and other anglers.

Neutral sinking behavior

Unlike a classic heavy sinking line, Visible Touch does not sink all the way to the lake bed, nor does it float permanently on the surface.

As a result, it stays suspended between the surface and the bottom, which can offer advantages, especially when long-range fishing:

• less contact with obstacles on the bottom
• less contact with floating debris on the surface
• very well suited for long distances
• braided line can cut through reeds and aquatic plants

Recommended combination with Shock’it

We often fish with Visible Touch in combination with our Shock’it mono shock leader .

Depending on the water body and the situation regarding obstacles, we use 0.50 mm, 0.60 mm, or 0.70 mm diameters.

Example for spooling reels

A proven combination consists of:

• approx. 80–90% Visible Touch 0.17 mm
• approx. 10–20% monofilament line as a stretch component
• additional Shock’it shock leader at the end

The monofilament component can help provide some additional stretch to the system, especially in currents or strong crosswinds.

How much line fits on my reel?

Practical example Daiwa Entoh 5000:
approx. 600 m Visible Touch 0.17 mm plus approx. 20–30 m Shock’it shock leader.

If your reel specifies a capacity such as: 0.40 mm = 280 m, you can calculate the required amount approximately using the rule of three.

Example 1:
600 × 280 : 280 = approx. 600 m

Example 2:
600 × 350 : 280 = approx. 750 m

Practical tips

When spooling for the first time:
We recommend running the line through a damp cloth with a little dish soap while spooling. This removes production residues from the surface sealant and reduces initial surface tension.

When dropping rigs with a dinghy:
When heading back, you can dip the rod tip about 50 cm into the water. This allows the line to be placed deeper in the water while you are still heading back, providing better protection against watercraft at long distances.
