Max Nollert Temptation Rods

10 ft or 12 ft? Two rod concepts – one Temptation DNA.

Since 2001, we have continuously developed the Temptation series. Today, two clearly different rod families are available: the compact TEN 10 ft and
the classic MK4 Nice'n Slim 12 ft.

Both are based on the same basic idea: feel the fish, let the blank work, and still have enough power reserve when it is really needed.

Carp fishing with Max Nollert Temptation carp rods

Feel the fish. For over two decades, Temptation has stood for progressive action, clean feedback, and controlled power.

Which Temptation is right for you?

Temptation TEN Nice'n Slim 10 ft carp rod
Compact & direct

Temptation TEN – 10 ft

The compact Temptation for boats, stalking, rivers, tight fishing spots, and all situations where direct control counts.

Short does not mean coarse with the TEN. The sensitive tip remains intact, while enormous reserves are available underneath, depending on the selected power class.

  • 3 lb – fine and sensitive
  • 3.5 lb – the powerful all-rounder
  • 4 lb – maximum reserve
  • GripX or full cork
  • 6 variants

Temptation MK4 – 12 ft

The classic Temptation all-rounder for large lakes, distance, rivers, and all anglers who prefer the familiar handling of a 12-ft rod.

Two different power classes cover the range from sensitive fight to powerful distance rod.

  • 2.75–3.25 lb – fine, progressive, and versatile
  • 3.5–4 lb – distance and power reserve
  • GripX or full cork
  • 4 variants

What unites both: the Temptation DNA

10 ft and 12 ft pursue different application concepts. But the same philosophy is in the blank.

Woven carbon instead of a one-size-fits-all blank

Temptation blanks use different woven carbon structures. A finer K-Cloth structure is used in the more sensitive tip area, while the more powerful area gets additional stability from a coarser structure.

The goal is not a hard transition between tip and backbone, but a progressive power development through the blank.

Temptation Nice'n Slim Woven Carbon Carp Rods

Nice'n Slim: Woven carbon, slim diameters, and progressive power development.

A powerful rod doesn't have to be a broomstick

The tip of a Temptation is meant to work. It absorbs blows, holds tension during direction changes, and conveys to the angler what is happening at the other end.

The stronger the blank is loaded, the more power comes from the area underneath. Exactly this long transition makes the rods interesting both during the fight and during controlled loading in the cast.

Our claim: fine feel and large power reserve in the same rod. Not as stiff as possible – but controlled strength.

Ring concept instead of as large rings as possible

For good casting properties, the diameter of the start ring is not the only deciding factor. Distance to the reel, ring height, angle, line diameter, and the entire ring path must match.

That is why both current Temptation families use a 6 + 1 SIC ring setup, each tailored to length, blank, and application profile.

The TEN 10 ft starts with a 30-mm start ring, the MK4 12 ft with a 40-mm start ring. Both concepts pursue the same goal: to control the line early and reduce unnecessary side swings and energy losses.

GripX or full cork – you decide the feel

GripX

Our modern, particularly slim handle design made of EVA and high-quality shrink tube. Direct, grippy, insensitive, and with a secure hold in the butt grip.

For anglers who like a reduced, modern look and immediate contact with the rod.

Full cork

The classic in high-quality rod building. Natural cork feels pleasantly warm, offers good grip even when wet, and gives the Temptation its traditional character.

For anglers who want to combine classic looks with modern blank technology.

Distance has been part of the story for years

Temptation was never developed as a pure casting rod. Nevertheless, the blanks have shown over many years that sensitive action and high casting performance are not contradictory.

Long-casting records have already been achieved twice in the Czech Republic with Temptation rods. For us, this confirms one thing above all: The overall system decides. Blank, ring path, back-up, and clean power transmission must work together.

Since 2001 – today in the 4th generation

Many details of the Temptation have changed in more than two decades: carbon structures, ring concepts, reel seats, handle materials, and diameters have been continuously developed further.

What has remained is the claim to develop a carp rod not at the desk, but from practical experience.

Directly from Imperial Fishing

You will rarely find Temptation rods in traditional retail. We sell them predominantly directly and can thereby closely link development, product information, and customer feedback.

Are you unsure whether 10 ft or 12 ft, or which power class suits your fishing? Then ask us. We advise based on the area of use – not based on which variant sounds the strongest right now.

Feel the fish.

Two lengths. Five power ratings. Two handle concepts.
Behind them is a Temptation philosophy.

TEN 10 ft for compact, direct handling.
MK4 12 ft for classic length, distance, and maximum versatility.
