For over 20 years, the Temptation series has stood for a combination that is crucial to us: a sensitive tip, a long dynamic working range and a backbone that only releases its power when it is really needed.

The current MK4 does not simply adopt the name of its predecessors. The basic character of the Temptation remains, but has been further developed visually and technically: slimmer construction, modern components and the typical progressive power delivery.

2.75–3.25 lb – the finer Temptation

Anglers who are looking not only for power, but as much feedback as possible, will find the finer character of the series in the 2.75–3.25 lb version.

The tip works sensitively, the action runs progressively and harmoniously deep into the blank, and maintains constant tension even during rapid changes of direction by the fish. This is particularly noticeable in boat fights, at medium distances and when fishing actively.

Despite the finer character, there is still sufficient backbone when pressure needs to be applied during a fight. For example when netting 

3.5–4 lb – when distance and power are added

The 3.5–4 lb version is aimed at anglers who demand more power from their 12-ft rod without wanting to do without a working tip. Casting is the keyword, heavy and far when necessary.

It is particularly suitable for large lakes, rivers, long-range casts, heavy rigs and situations where a large fish needs to be consistently controlled.

What is important here: 3.5-4 lb does not automatically mean stiff with the Temptation. The blank works progressively. Only with increasing load does the additional power from the lower section become noticeable.

A powerful rod does not have to be a broomstick

This is exactly where a major part of our Temptation philosophy has been for many years: The tip may work. It must cushion strikes, absorb the fish's movements and maintain tension.

At the same time, a long, dynamic power range should be created underneath. The more the blank is loaded, the more backbone comes into play.

GripX or full cork?

With both power classes, you can choose between two completely different handle characters. The rod remains technically the same – the feel changes significantly.

Full cork: the grippy classic

GripX: Handle, reel seat and blank form a deliberately slim unit. Over 160m with 130g on the very first casts. No wonder Nicolo is in the Italian national team in casting.

Natural cork provides a pleasantly warm feel and a timeless character.

The blank – two carbon structures, a smooth power transition

A typical feature of the Temptation series is the change in woven carbon structure. In the tip area, we use a finer structure to achieve sensitivity and clean feedback.

From the fourth ring, the blank works with a coarser structure that provides additional stability in the more powerful area. This creates no abrupt transition between "soft" and "hard", but a progressive power delivery.

40-mm start ring – deliberately coordinated as a complete system

A large start ring alone does not automatically make a rod stronger for casting. What matters is the entire ring path: distance to the reel, ring height, angle, line diameter and the transition to the tip.

The Temptation MK4 works with a 6 + 1 SIC ring path and a 40-mm start ring. The goal is early control of the line spirals coming off the reel, so that unnecessary side-sways, blank contact and energy loss are reduced.

The ring path is part of the entire blank concept – not simply a question of the largest possible ring diameter.

20 – secure hold without unnecessary metal mass

With a progressively working rod, the reel seat should also fit the concept. That is why a 20 reel seat is used, which reliably fixes the reel without unnecessarily stiffening the handle area with heavy metal parts.

Temptation and distance – no new topic

The Temptation was never developed as a pure long-range rod. Nevertheless, its construction has shown for many years that sensitivity and casting performance do not have to be contradictory.

Long-range records have already been achieved twice in the Czech Republic with Temptation rods. For us, this is above all proof that a well-coordinated overall system of blank, ring path and action is significantly more important than individual marketing figures.

Over two decades of Temptation

The current Nice'n Slim is the latest development stage of a rod series that has been continuously developed for over 20 years.

Ring concepts, handle materials and details have changed. The basic idea remained the same: The angler should feel the fish – and still have sufficient power reserves at all times.
