product description

Stone file - Pinpoint-Hooks
A stone file is an absolute unreplaceable tool when you want to sharpen your hooks yourself. But also when you want to re-shapen a hook after you have just landed a fish in order to be sure that it is in top condition to catch again. With this tool you can be sure that your materials are 100% ready for action.

When sharpening by hand the stone file is used to fine tune the hook point and remove the material which was left after use of the diamonds stone. It is important to work with the minimal possible force. Do not work on the metal but rather let the file do the work for you. The special attributes of the materials ensure that only the minimum amount of material is taken away so that a perfect hook point is the result, which with even the lightest of contact with the fish’s mouth will result in a good hook up.

Due to the large work surface it is possible to work in a much more precise manner. The material as well as the size ensure that you can easily sharpen hundreds of hooks. The was no handle added for a specific reason. It is not needed in order to use the file effectively and this also ensures that the file will last longer in that it can be used on all sides.

Max Nollert’s hook graveyard:
„Since the middle of the 90’s I changed my hooks out on a daily basis and collected them for over 15 years in a box.  Julian Jurkewitz knows the box and I remember his smile when he saw it for the first time!  Someday these can be sharpened up was what I told him. I am not sure exactly when,  but sometime a few years ago during a thourough clean up action in the office they found there way into the trash. With this set I am sure that I could have produced many razor sharp hooks...“
