product description

LED-Magnifying glass - Pinpoint-Hooks
The magnifying glass is a most valuable tool when it comes to sharpening hooks. Once you have seen a sharpened hook under 40X magnification you will no longer need to conduct any other tests such as the fingernail test. The glass does not lie.

The magnifying glass is like all the other tools thoroughly thought out and no consideration was given to the costs of the materials. What makes this piece one of a kind on the market are two features. The most important is the 40Xs magnification as opposed to the 20Xs  which is mostly offered. It is not that twice the magnification must be better, but it is a fact that this level of magnification offers a large view of how the hook point really looks. The second feature is that the the device is lighted. At first glance some might think this is just a worthless gimic. Anyone who has once tried to check the hook point at night under the magnification glass through a headlamp light will tell you that this is next to impossible. The light on the device allows the magnified area to be seen clearly in the dark. Of course this feature can be turned on and off, and the batteries are easily replaceable.

Max Nollert’s hook graveyard:
„Since the middle of the 90’s I changed my hooks out on a daily basis and collected them for over 15 years in a box.  Julian Jurkewitz knows the box and I remember his smile when he saw it for the first time!  Someday these can be sharpened up was what I told him. I am not sure exactly when,  but sometime a few years ago during a thourough clean up action in the office they found there way into the trash. With this set I am sure that I could have produced many razor sharp hooks...“

Can you resharp blunt hooks?
In the german magazine "Angelwoche" issue 16 2015, Max Nollert give an answer to this question:
